A Canine Guest Visits Casa Electrolux

We had a cute canine guest here at Casa Electrolux today. A neighbor's dog was on the lam. When I saw him trotting right in the middle of the road I went after him. He played chase at first but finally came up to me. I got his owner's info on his tag and called; she'll pick him up later today.

I didn't want to let him roam loose in the apartment because I didn't know if he has fleas or is housebroken, so I put him on the balcony where, after a bit of barking and whining, he finally settled down.

Of course, Doggie and LoLo were quite perturbed, especially LoLo because he was the object of our guest's unwelcome affections -- and made it perfectly clear that he wasn't interested!

A little while later I took them all back outside and they got along fine and all made poo-poo. When we came back up Doggie and LoLo were already bored with him and just wanted their treats.

I won't stand too much in judgment of his owner except to say I've seen the dog running loose several times lately, and he is not neutered. I mentioned to the lady that she might want to secure him better and to get him neutered ASAP. I said he could easily get run over, get dognapped, get into a fight with territorial dogs, or get picked up by Animal Control.

He's a very sweet, easy-going and affectionate dog. I hope she will take better care of him.

Checkrate/Likes 1 ~ ~ POSTSCRIPT... The neighbor to whom the curly dog belongs dropped off a very thoughtful thank-you card with a sweet note and two movie passes. I thought that was really nice of her.
