I own a Bernina Commercial 6500C Vacuum. Can anyone help me date this when it was manufactured?

Interesting! Another vacuum branded with the name of a sewing machine manufacturer. I wonder if the Bernina name was bought by Riccar since it does look like a classic Tacony/Simplicity/Riccar Panasonic knock-off.

Riccar or Tacony never made vacuums for Bernina, they were made by Buckeye (Now called ESSCO). They also had other brands sold such as Evolution, Cirrus, Prograde, etc. My best guess would be looking at the serial number but I have a buddy that can tell how old it would be because he was a Cirrus dealer before.

Here is the Serial Number 0003178. I think this was made by Dust Care.

Dust care is another brand made by ESSCO. I will see if I can get this serial number looked at.

Thanks for that response Alex. Where is Essco's plant/assembly line? Is it in the USA?

ESSCO headquarters are in Twinsburg, OH with a few warehouse locations in Twinsberg, Portland OR, Fontana CA, and Smyrna GA. Most of their products are made in China and there are a few that are made in Taiwan.
