Making my local visit to my Kirby dealer I happened upon this Hyla GST made 11/2/15.. I got it for $20! It may not be as good as Rainbow but I really really like these machines as I had one of the previous models and sold it to a friend.I think my favorite thing about this vac is the powenozzle. It has a nice feel to it and grooms carpet nicely. Anyone else have one of these machines? Please share your thoughts...

I have no experience with the machine, but will say it was still a good buy.  The nozzle alone is worth more than what you paid.

Truly a bargain

I agree... For $20 you could not buy a powerhead and I got a vacuum that is less than a year old and out performs big box store vacuums by far.

machines like Rainbow - but I have never used a Hyla - These sell for 1000 to 2000 dollars, and it's their LATEST model GST, so UM.......YEA, whoever sold that for 20 dollars was INSANE. LOL

The Kirby trade in room has yielded some nice find for me as well. Congrats on your Hyla. Nice vacuum, good cleaning ability.

There are SURPRISES in those trade in piles-doesn't matter what brand vacuum they were traded to.Check with the places often! And they may save special ones for you! That Hyla is a real surprise.Didn't think the owner would trade in a machine that new.

My local Kirby dealer and yes they sometimes have a nice treasure or two in their trade-ins. It really is surprising what some people trade in that's practically new.

Awesome Buy!!!

You definitely got quite the find with that one!!  I have heard they are supposed to be similar in quality to  a Rainbow and have some features which may work better.

The power nozzle looks like a redesigned Wessel Werk EBK340.  Are those dual LED headlights in the front?  The EBK340 used to have  fully indented headlight area with lens.

Awesome find!!

They changed the headlight on the newest model

Those are dual LED lights on the front. I have not stopped using this thing since I bought it. It cleans the carpet so well and to be honest I find a few features more convinent than my rainbow.

-The Power nozzle has complete control switch on the handle in which you can turn the whole vacuum off or just the nozzle itself.
-The Power nozzle itself really seems to deep clean and groom carpet very well (including shag rugs)
-The water basin is large capacity and is very easy to carry when full of water.
-The water basin is also very easy to clean as it is a bucket design.
-The machine automatically adjust from air cleaning mode to full power once the hose is inserted

Bottom line is, for the price I paid for this, it truly is worth it and I plan to use it often because it is fun to vacuum with it, not to mention it does have very good cleaning ability and so far pretty good quality.
