In here Finland we have almost same vacuum called Lux Intelligence.
It must be the most expensive vacuum here. 2000e!

Can't wait to see what Aerus does to it with its touches .

They just ended white with previous Aerus vacuums they are currently black .

I'd be happy if they'd just implement a telescopic wand and did away with the awkward loop handle. I think the power nozzle, cord length, hose length, low noise, high suction and full-size accessories are already great!

I agree with all you said....except for the tools. For the money Aerus wants for the Guardian Platinum, the combination dusting/upholstery tool & adapter is totally inappropriate & looks cheap. In addition, the dusting brush side has a tendency to try & stick to furniture you are dusting. I think it would be nice if they included the TriStar dusting brush, upholstery tool, crevice tool & holder instead, they are much better designed.

I will totally agree with Kirbylux77,

The combination tool with adapter is a poor inclusion.  Two separate tools like  on the Tri-Star, is much easier to use with this hose/handle configuration.  Though I do like the combination tool on the original pistol grip handle.

The tool falls off the adapter while you are trying to use it.  The added inch or so the adapter gives makes the angle difficult with the gas pump plastic handle IMO.

Or better yet go back to the Classic style hose handle & aluminum wands like a 1205 or Super J

go back to the Classic style hose handle & aluminum wands

That option would get my vote.

Other than that I do have to say the Lux Guardian Platinum is a great machine.  and Quiet.  Power nozzle emits more noise than the vacuum.

I have the 'Lux Guardiuan Platinum-another question for this machine-the older Guardians had the canister on-off and speed controls on the hose handle-why not the new Platinum? The machine is supurb, though despite that. The powernozzle is quieter than the old.Beleive the tools will interchange with the new TriStar-another newcomer. It has a more powerful and quieter motor than the previous ones. But I do like the older TriStar wands and tools better. If you use the new Platinum-be sure to use ONLY cloth Filtrete style bags in it.Will try changing the tools and see if that works.

It looks almost the same. I truly hope they don't change back to white. White vacuums are the worst! They stain and show dirt worse. They also tend to change colors. I think the black/silver looks best.

I actually prefer light coloured vacuums and attachments....they seem to have a "friendlier" and more domestic air about them. Black coloured vacs look more like power tools and industrial machines and black tools show dust more easily and they always look dusty. Some black rubber attachments can mark white walls just like a crayon. I remember how my black Eureka World Vac dusting brush left black crayon marks on my white ceiling when I used it to dust a curtain rod.

Panasonic and Kenmore vacs have featured grey tools for a decade or two - the grey actually matches household dust exactly and they maintain a clean appearance for a very long time.

I think vac-makers have figured out how to prevent the yellowing we used to see on vacs in the 1970's. I have yet to see a white modern Miele vac go yellow.

the flame retardant chemicals added to the plastic back then caused the yellowing.
I believe it was bromine.
You can temporarily reverse the yellowing by making the retr0bright formula.
I have tried it, and it does work.

@blknblu

Thanks for that product mention. I've not heard of that. One major cause of yellowing is smoking. I don't smoke but I've still had some white machines turn.

The Shark vacuums at my local Bed Bath and Beyond are extremely yellow, they look hideous. I guess it would be from the florescent lighting in the store, because they definitely don't have any sunlight on them and (obviously) smoking isn't allowed in the store.
