I have heard that the history of these trees goes back to strips of shiny foil being dropped out of US planes in WWII to confuse enemy radar.After the war the company making foil strips came up with a new use and 50s Christmas was never the same. |

My late father was diagnosed with Cancer shortly before I was born. Not being ablt to cut a live tree, he bought one of these 6' Evergleam trees. WE used it until 1973. THen, it sat in the basement, unseen, for years. Now, I put it up in the diningroom, just for old times. Criticized for keeping it, NOW, it's the rage. I looked on Ebay.... wow! We never had the 'color wheel', though. |
