While the plaid does not match the OEM bag you're trying to get replaced, this would still be workable going by the primary trim color (red): http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kirby-Classic-Ou...
The current replacement bags from Kirby for this and other older machines are, of course, a solid black color.

The Kirby Classic 3 uses a shakeout cloth bag which acts as a filter so it is normal to feel air coming through the bag. Dysonman1 is correct, those old shakeout bags do leak some fine dust.
There are conversion kits available which would convert your Classic3 to use disposable paper or cloth HEPA bags however they are somewhat expensive. |

This old Kirby looks like it's about to sell for about $6. That bag is pretty close to the Classic III. You could use it until the proper bag turns up on ebay. One just sold on ebay, with a pile of random parts, just 2-3 days ago for about $5. I meant to bid on that myself, but I forgot. I'm still kicking myself for that one.
