I was just thinking about this today. What attachments included with new vacuums or sold separately have been used the longest?
I know the Kenmore lime and orange canisters use the same floor brush from the 1984 Kenmores, and the purple bagless canister uses the 1984 style dusting brush. Panasonic's MC-CG902 uses the entire 1984 set. I think some Hoovers such as the Windtunnel may still use the Elite style attachments? Hayden makes a set of central vac attachments that are very similar to the Whirlpools and Kenmores from the 1960s and 70s but not exact. Any others? |

The deluxe upholstery nozzle that was introduced by Eureka in 1959 with the Golden Crown Roto-Matic survived over 40 years, with the last vacuum to include it being the orange Electrolux Oxygen in the early 2000's. The Roto-Matic had a green one, the Oxygen had a grey one. The nozzles are identical except for the colour.

Powerhead for the Electrolux (80's) and for the Lux Royal (90's) This was available from the early 80's all the way to the early 2000's. It's built like a tank, but hard to move on the high pile carpets. |
