That's a model LD31. They also made that same model in beige/tan. Since yours has the heat shield, the oldest it could be is 1979. Keep the cotton batting. The foam batting used today doesn't muffle the noise nearly as well. The batting was designed to also remove carbon brush dust from the exhaust, but the air flow is much greater out the bottom of the switch housing. That's normal. Your switch pedal's pad has been replaced, it should have been dark brown like the plastic bits of the machine.

Thanks everyone! Tom, where would the model and rating plate be hidden? As seen inside dome cap there is scare room, or was it very narrow on these models and fell off? |
