This is a straight-suction Westinghouse upright vacuum cleaner Model CL-3 from, I'm guessing based on its aesthetics, the early 1930s. I've never seen another one like it nor any information on this model. My friend Stan Kann (R.I.P.) gave it to me in the early 1990s.

Today I took it all apart down to the last screw. I cleaned and polished the entire machine. I think it looks pretty nice, despite some minor flaws such as some spots on the bag.

It's not exactly a powerhouse vacuum cleaner; in fact, even by late 1920s / early 1930s, it's pretty wimpy. But I've always admired its striking and sleek design. The rug nozzle reminds me of airplane wings!

Here's a short video showing it in action:

Pretty cool there. Reminds me of an ancient universal I restored. Quite handy for hardwood
