I bought a Hoover decade 800 off of eBay, the motor is shot, I found a Hoover decade 80 motor for sale I bought it now I'm wondering will it work everything fits into the frame of the 800 but I'm concerned that the amps maybe different I don't want to burn it up, and did the decade 800 and 80 both have the power surge feature

I believe they are virtually the same.

They changed Decade 80 to Decade 800 simply because the 80s ended,  but the cleaner didn't.   Welcome to the 90s
