I've seen videos of elites sounding much lower pitch and quieter. I have no idea if there is something wrong with it or if it's just the "12 amp" motor hoover put in it. Please help!

Getting the motor apart:
Remove the motor from the vacuum-- this means taking off bag assembly too. Slide off the rubber gasket at top of unit Remove 4 screws to fan housing and remove housing cover. By holding the motor pulley tight, the fan should remove by turning clockwise. Removal of the fan will then allow you to separate off the back of the housing if you wanted to check carbon brushes, lubricate bearings or do any cleaning. |
