I can't believe that Miele chose single cyclone bagless with large pleated filter for their bagless debut.

That's seems to be a similar design to the pretty much useless bagless conversion kit for Kirby G series vacuums:

Thanks Scott!

The Miele bagless design looks odd to me.I need to see one in the flesh, before I can say, yeah or nay.

I heard a rumor before that they would make a bagless model, didn't think that was true at first until now.

Speaking of Jim Keeler's design, I knew one Kirby person that bought one of those to see how bad it actually was. He did a demonstration of using the Diamond as both bagged and bagless to see how well they both do on saw dust (Something that can clog up very fast). The bagless conversion not only it clogged up very fast but it was spitting saw dust back out of the brushroll, the bagged adapter did fine picking everything up and I didn't noticed it even clogging up.

This was back in 2011 I think.

I just bought a bagless Dyson V8. Never thought I'd touch a Dyson. But it's not bad. Easy to use and love no cord. The carpet hardwood floor brushes are perfectly sized to fit places many other vacuums won't. Not sure what all the complaining about dust flying around during the dump. It's quite easy to do without making a mess. Maybe it's not worth the $600 I paid for it for most people, but there will be sales and price reductions to be had for the patient.

A good vacuum is the one that gets used, and so far, this one is getting lots of use. And no stinky bag. Can't say that for any other bagged vacuum I've ever used. Sooner or later, they all stink. And yes, I clean them.

As for Miele, I find there bagged canisters (I've had 2) to be very well designed, top quality and more quiet than any other canister I've ever used. Hope their bagless has similar quality and they can give smug Mr. Dyson some competition.

Well, if Miele can go bagless, then I hope Shark can go bagged. Would love to see bagged versions of all their Lift Aways and Rotators and canisters and even stick vacs.
