I have not posted about new machines in a while. Up until last Saturday, I only had two additions to my collection in two and a half months. In early July, I purchased a Rexair model B at an estate sale for about $40. I don't think it was worth $40 but I bought it anyway. It is missing the hose and all the tools. The cord needs to replaced badly. The motor works with some bearing noise. Two weeks ago, I finally bought the un-corded Sani-Way I had been watching on ebay for a long time. Luckily, I was able to easily install a new cord and it powered right up. It's pretty quiet. It needs the hose and tools. I have a temporary hose that fits. It could use a paint job too. Last Saturday, I visited a vacuum store an hour away from my house. He was very generous and gave me eight vacuums for free. Out of the eight, only three of them currently run. The red Wildcat may run but I haven't tested it yet (no cord). I'm very happy to have a Fantom Crosswind 600 XL because they are virtually nonexistent today. It was missing many parts, so I put Cyclone XT parts on it that I'll paint blue someday.
-The Destiny 3000 needs a new motor and wiring. It is also missing the powerhead and the attachments. -The Hoover 1000 needs a new motor and it is missing the hose, wand, crevice tool and powerhead. -The Fantom Capture does not run, but the motor turns freely. Not sure yet what is wrong, perhaps a switch. May use donor Kenmore Drytech since I already have a mint one and don't need two identical Drytechs. -The green Wildcat works perfectly, it just needs a handle release. I may take the good one of the red Wildcat, since I already used its brushroll for my blue Wildcat. -The Custom King works perfectly but the motor housing/tank needs to be repainted badly. The handle strap is missing and one of the tank's latches is missing. The hose seems to be rusted onto the inlet it attaches to. -The Montgomery Ward Power II is almost mint. Just some light surface rust in the back of the bag chamber and a few cracks in the back of the tool cover. It doesn't look like it was ever used very much. Suprisingly, all the tools are there and intact. -The Crosswind 600 XL does not work. I suspect it's the motor, but it could be the switch/wiring. |

Nice haul!! I love that custom King. Silver king sure builds one heck of a vacuum. Nearly indestructible as well! |
