My Ultimate G has an ailing TechDrive. It had been doing some hopping on the wall to wall, but now there is a very unpleasant gear grinding noise going forward or when it bumps into a wall. I know that there is a Kirby parts source that has been reccomended here but I can't find the thread nor remember the name. Can someone give me a hand? Thanks.

New or used?

If you're okay with a used one, check eBay. I've seen Tech Drives in the sub-$50 range there.

human, I will take a look. I am not the handiest person. I would rather pay more so when I screw it up I'll have a number to call!

Here's the procedure you need to replace a Tech Drive. It's really not very hard. All you need is some basic screwdriver skills and a little patience.

Tom,

I can highly recommend The Kirby Needs Store. I have ordered parts from them several times now without any problems. The store is owned and operated by Kent Oyler and should there be a problem, you can reach him at 801-710-2612. All orders arrive in about a week or less.

Here is a direct link to the store page you need:
