Is it true that when rust develops around the fan shaft, as can be seen on my Classic III, would that be a sign that time is running out for this metal fan?
Thank you in advance with any solution you may have... ~Ben |

What condition are the trailing edges of the fan in-the parts covered by the fancase-any bent or nicked blades? |

It is NOT time to replace the fan, just because there's rust on the belt drive shaft. Look at the inside of steel wands for canisters, they rust from the humidity in the air. Seventy year old Kirbys with their original fans (plus rust on the belt drive shaft) are still being used to clean with today. The only real reason to replace the Kirby fan is for an unbalanced situation due to a broken blade.
