Hi all! So I found this Kirby on goodwills website and noticed that handle has a sort of thumb rest nub. There weren't and profile pictures but you can see it on the front.

What are your thoughts? Does anyone know if this was handle an upgrade or something?

Brandon, that handle is a later replacement handle, possibly generic but not sure. The bag system is also a later genuine Kirby upgrade using disposable bags, from regular paper, up to the hepa bags. I have a Classic III with both bag setups. When I use it, I use the latter setup, makes it a much better cleaner IMHO.

Thanks for the info! This was my favorite handle style on Kirbys so it's interesting it slightly altered.

This is what the original handle looked like. In 1976 only, the cord hooks were on the side of the handle with the bag, and the hand grip was a skinny grip that was uncomfortable to hold. The grip was changed in 1977 and the cord hooks were changed to the opposite side.
