And I know nothing about it. I've been told that Fantoms are extremely rare, and that if I ever found one, I should grab it. If somebody would clue me in a little on these things, I'd appreciate it. It will probably be for sale in Tulsa next year, as I have no interest in bagless vacuums.

Learn somethi ng every day.

I thought Fantoms were all out of Ontario Canada.
Congratulations on your Blue Ribbons from the convention. Nice work!
My aunt had a grey Compact when I was little. I called it a pig, bit I like the styling, and the hammered metal. A totally different shape than my grandmas E-Lux model 30 xxx.
Another aunt had a turquoise compact Revelation with the air driven floor polisher. She replaced it with a Filter Queen. I asked if I could have the turquoise piggy, but she said it smelled bad when it was on, so my uncle was using it in the garage.

Info on the Fantom Fury...

The Fantom Fury vacuum was introduced in 1996 as a lighter weight alternative to the large and heavy Thunder. The fury had a 30 minute infomercial, and, to my understanding, sold very well. It originally had a 10 AMP motor, and the dirt bin was dark green with a black interior, as well as a black cyclone. The original Fury also had Teal Green accents on the bumper, handle grip, as well as the headlight and height adjustment slider. In 1998, Fantom restyled most of their lineup, with the fury receiving a higher powered 12 AMP motor, as well as a light Sage Green dirt bin with silver cyclone and interior, headlight, and height adjustment slider. The handle grip and bumper switched to the black, as seen in your 1999 example. In either 2000 or 2001, Fantom restyled the hood of the Fury to include a more modern looking "swoosh" headlight, as well as more curves on the body as well. There were 3 models of this restyle: Special Edition, Special Edition Plus, and Limited Edition. The Limited Edition did not have the original handle wand system, it had a newer one where you had a set of two collapsible aluminum wands that set in the back of the handle, with the main handle being fixed into place. When Fantom ceased using their old Dual Cyclone Logo, they switched to a new Single Cyclone logo. There are a few Fury Limited Editions that have different colors and the new logo. After that, they took the Fury, colored it a light powder blue with silver accents, created a new single cyclonic dirt cup, and called it the Crosswind 200XL. Not very long after, Fantom closed its doors on October 2001. And the rest is history.

My family owned one of these when I was little. I'm pretty sure it was the 10 amp version. My parents purchased it from the infomercial. I remember my mom using in my old apartment with dark brown carpeting and 3 cats.

Sadly, my parents got rid of it in 2001 upon moving into our new house.

They're not too uncommon in the Western NY area I still see them fairly often, they imported through here and there seems to be a disproportionately high number of them compared to elsewhere. I just bought another Fury a couple of weeks ago and a Thunder just last week. I have pretty much a whole shed full of Thunder/Desinty/Domestics and maybe 10 Furys. They're not terribly hard to work on I used to buy or garbage pick them them, unclog then and sell them to coworkers. Now I just buy good ones I see. The one I got last week was a Thunder with an up damaged filter housing though it cost $20.

If you have a working Fury I'd suggest pulling it apart and cleaning the vanes of the motor with a pipe cleaner if you haven't and do it at least every year or so if you use it regularly. It will greatly increase the life of the motor. It's cyclones are not as efficient as the Thunder.

I won't be doing anything with this machine. I plan to sell it at the 2017 VCCC Convention in Tulsa. I have no interest it bagless vacuums such as this. I only bought it because I know some folks like these and somebody might want it.
