Doggie and Lo-Lo getting vacuumed. Doggie loves it; Lo-Lo minimally tolerates it. (Thanks to Arlee for the crummy photos!!)

All our dogs and cats over the years have enjoyed it, some more than others. Our little dog Oz would come trotting over any time I got out a vacuum cleaner!

Goggie, NO.  Kitty loves vacuums.  I just did him all over with the Filter Queen last night, on low.

Absolutely not. If I even so much as look at the vacuum without intent of turning it on, our cat will run away and hide.

Whenever I turn on a vacuum cleaner, my cat does her 'Snagglepuss' impression "Exit, stage left!"

I have a pet rabbit, his reactions to the sound, or even sight of a vacuum is, scratch, bite, kick, and run. I have never seen pets that like vacuums. I thought it was only a human thing to like vacs.

Nearly all of our Fur Babies have loved getting vacuumed. The way to do it is to acclimate them in stages:

• First, just the dusting brush

• Next, dusting brush on hose
• Third, dusting brush & hose connected to the vacuum cleaner
• Finally, turn the vacuum cleaner on while brushing them.

My cat use to ride around on the top of the vacuum, but then again she loved anything that vibrated.

I used to have one of my parents' dogs named Brutus live with my husband and I for a few years. He was petrified of the vacuum when he first got here!!!!! When I would get it out, I would tell him to go in the other room. I worked with him for a long time! I got him where he would be in the same room with the vacuum, then I would call and have him come over to me when I had the vacuum right by us, next I would just turn it on, lastly I got him to let me vacuum him with it! He loved it so much, that when I would get the vacuum out he would be trying to sit on it and wait for me to get the hose out!!!! One time when I was using the shampooer, he got all mad because I couldn't vacuum him with it!!!!! It was a cool transformation to watch!!!! :) -Michelle

Vacuuming pet

I think I ruined it with my sheepdog when I tried vacuuming him with the powerhead. He never forgave me for that. (Sigh)

My little dog

ChiChi that I had 15 years LOVED to be vacuumed. but She also loved thunder storms and if you even walked thru the house with a gun. She had a fit. we used to shoot skeet a lot and she would run out in front of you and bark. She loved any loud noise. my cat Bella will go under the bed if she sees the vacuum being plugged in. if its just sitting there She will lie down next to it!

My cat Lily surprised me yesterday when I was running my newly acquired Electrolux 1205/PN-4A combo. She was napping a few feet away when I turned the machine on and didn't even raise an eyebrow. When I turned it off, she got up and came over to investigate it. Having apparently passed the sniff test, she sauntered off in search of other diversions.

Cat

Was vacuuming the other day a my cat didn't even move. But she does like to be vacuumed with the hose. But I mostly use a Kirby on her for the massage attachment.
