Hi i am new here and i'm trying 2 buy a kirby ultimate g off of craigslist. The lady put in the auction "$150 OBO." So i e-mailed her and asked if $100 would be good. She said no $150. Is this a ok, good, or great deal???
Kirby has attachments and shampooer and lookes used
what do u think????

Go for it, But Just make sure there are no problems with it and ask for the Warrenty Papers

Warranty Papers?

Just wondering why you would say to ask for the warranty papers. If you buy a Kirby from anyone other than a Kirby dealer, then the warranty is null and void. The only way to get the full warranty is to buy it at full price through an in home demo. I see Kirby's all the time that say they have a factory warranty, but since dealers can't legally sell Kirby's brand new on Ebay, I don't see how the warranty would apply. But if your buying a fairly new Kirby for such a small amount, who needs a warranty?

that's a great price

I paid 200 for my G5 on Craig's List... and it came with attachments, but no shampooer. You're getting a good deal at 150. She'd be stupid to take less than that for that machine. I sold the Ultimate G door to door for 3 days back in 2003 sometime, it's still a relatively new model. Just test it first before giving the money and make sure the transmission works.

after you test it if everything works offer her $130, as you are saying the offer pull the cash out of your pocket, this trick always works at the swap meets! even if you have to pay $150 its still a great deal, i was outbid recently on an ultimate g it wound up going for around $125 and it was just the vacuum, no attachments or shampooer!

If the vac is in great shape, $150.00 is a STEAL! I paid $200.00 for a refurbished G-4 and it came with aftermarket tools (which I happen to like better anyways) and NO shampoo system. It did come with the improved em-tor boot though which I believe they started using with the G-6. I would try to get her down as much as you can, but if she doesn't want to budge.. I would still go for it... The G series are AMAZING cleaners and alot of fun to use and to get a newer G for under $200.00!! Wow! I"m jealous already! :) Best of luck!

i just payed $51 for a ultimate g that was missing the rug plate, the brush was warped, and was filthy! but i was really exited because that was the last one i needed to complete my g-series collection. i cleaned and buffed it, and it looks just like new!

UPDATE ON KIRBY

i went to go see the kirby 2day and i was very disapointed. the lady's house was in a bad part of milwaukee and the vacuum looked very used and abused. she had 2 get the kirby out of her garage!!! u would think if u spent $1,100 on a vacuum u would wanna keep it in ur house @ least. she wouldnt budge on the price she had as $150. oh well. i guess i keep my eyes open 4 a diamond maybe.

I have always questioned this practice. You spend a fortune on a vacuum, and then treat it like an old broom. Would you go mudding in a Royals Royce?

You should have taken the Kirby away from her just on principal. She didn't deserve it.
