Thank you to all of you. I KNOW this is a great place to be. I look in here almost everyday. It has been a difficult year for me, and, this is my treat to myself. I do plan to look the the "hollowed ground" where these HOOVER machines were made, with PRIDE in the U.S.A. I look at these cleaners and wonder how many were wedding gifts, how many Christmas trees they have picked up, etc. They were all made in the same place, and are now in the same place, my 11 room home. Very Hermann Munster- ish. It all began with the model 67, which was bought 2 weeks before I was born. My aunt had a shiny new 69...... the rest just "happened".Thank you to all of you. When I learn how to take AND post pics, I will.125 pluus hoovers, attachments, books, etc...fills a lot of space. I raide my Dr. Pepper to the muighty HOOVER co. feel free to email me at

You've SEEN it, then...... With all of these cleaners, it SHOULD be very clean. A question: Do we ALL have white carpets? lol also, I have a few coffee pots (I don't drink coffee), blenders, toasters, frying pans, shoe ploishers, etc. ALL you guessed it. HOOVER. I DO have a few "other" appliances, a Kirby, a GE, Premier (hand cleaner), they are in my basement. They are not allowed to be with the other machines. I will eventually see if any og ye wants them. I'm all Irish, but live in a very Italian town. Great cook, and, am alone. hmmmmmmmmmm

My Aunt Gertrude Guggenheim, married to my Uncle Charles, was the head buyer in the ladie's department in John Wannamaker's, and Uncle Charles worked for Philco. They lived in Philadelphia. Allentown, Kutztown and Krumsville were pretty and enjoyable. My host was from Allentown originally, and was kind of a drag when he found out I didn't drink. Long boring story.

Hi. Thanks. I only saw that show once. I feel it made us all look stupid. We're not. There are "Dunder Mifflin" signs, etc everywhere. I heard that the local radio station Froggy101 bumper stickers are on the show and are quite an item. Does anyone want one?? I can get you one.

Gosh, John! You mean Dunder-Mifflin is an actual company? I didn't know that. I do enjoy the show as it's a mirror of the sort of microcosm my workplace can be. We love the interoffice romance adventures as they knot & untangle. LOL

I stayed in Scranton once on my way to pick up a piano and 'discovered' the swell Locomotive museum and the history! That was well worth the half day I spent prowling around the shop talking to the guys rebuilding the steamers.

Steamtown

gottahaveahoove's profile picture
No, Dunder-Mifflin isn't real. But, the cast comes here a lot, so D M signs are all over. The once great Lackawanna train station was almost raised. Now, a glorious hotel. They are working on the museum, steamtown trips, the coal mine tour (A must for every child here, to realize what our families went through). I was in the mine, 300ft below the ground. "humbling", and the ski lodges. Any and all are welcome to visit. big, 11 room house here.

Well, as long as you collect HOOVER!!!

Welcome, John!

I learned to ski in the Poconos, years after I learned Hoover was among the best America had to offer (probably by age 3 or 4) What a gorgeous part of our country Skytop and the Poconos are, Yes, I am bitten by the H-bug, but also the E-bug. I left Long Island with one Hoover 65 and one Lux 30 and have a respectable representation of both with some of the credit going to some wonderful and generous club members. Space does become an obstacle over time, unfortunately. lol Welcome to The 'A' Club of vacuum collectors and we hope to see you in NORTH CANTON!! It is not be be missed if you really are a Hoover Dude!!! (tehehehe)

I ONLY have HOOVER. HOOVER everything. I DO have a few "items, non-HOOVER". They are housed in the cellar... awaiting something to happen to them. I DO appreciate, however, people who love others. A Kenmore hand cleaner, a Premier hand cleaner, a Kirby 84, a GE swiveltop, are the cellar dwellers. I'm sure some people in here will want them. I have a few OLD electrolux tools, too Thanks to all of you who have said, "Hi". Great decision to be here, so far........ John

John,

Welcome and I have stayed at that Lackawanna Railroad hotel many times and it is indeed, fabulous! I wish I could remember the name of it. The mezzanine level gives you a great birds eye view. The ceiling, glass panels and brass fittings are really something. I'm glad they did not tear it down!

Keep on posting!

Hi John!
Welcome. It's great to find another Hoover collector in PA, I am in Hazleton...also, I sent the wrong number of Hoovers, as well as other Vacuums that I have, it is more like 75+.

Ours is indeed a unique and fun hobby!

Peace & God bless!
