Hey everyone, yesterday I found a Electrolux ap 280 from 1982 from the dump that I picked up that was in good condition. But the part that annoyed me was the cord was cut. As much I did some research why cords get cut, but still seek some help regarded to would it still work. I am really hoping after putting a cord on it ,it will run. But thought posting it, would be cool. In the condition you see it at , do you believe it will run or do you think it needs repairing? . love to get your feedback on it. Thanks.

I would highly recommend putting a new cord on the machine .I personally own an Electrolux AP 200 wonderful cleaner light weight good suction great air flow wonderful machine . I notice you have the original woven hose id recommend vinyl hose relatively available on ebay now a days .Also the ap 280 is a two speed machine .

Great news

WEll, the great news after working hard on the Electrolux ap 280 through a lot of fixing up, cleaning. She runs great, very happy with it. And there is nothing greater than getting a good vacuum for free.

The first vacuum I bought was a new AP280, in 1982. I used it for 18 years until the hose started giving me problems.

Nice to see a fellow Ontarian on the site...and not so far away.
