For a while i've felt my collection has been missing a kind of "classical" upright, the kind with the bag on the back. I've been keeping my eyes on Craigslist and Ebay looking for a Nice looking Eureka or Hoover upright. I found a nice maroon eureka on craigslist but after the seller agreed to look into the cost of shipping it, I never heard back from them. So the search continued until i found this lovely Blue Eureka on Ebay. It's a 6.5 amp machine with a vinyl bag, the plastic bag connection had a crack in it so that was super glued, and the bellows will eventually be replaced as this has the leather-like material which i feel causes a lot of restriction.
I've forgotten what using one of these is like it has a lot of clamping power, and i can hear grit running through it!

Nice basic, classic fan-first Eureka! Gets the job done without a milluon bells and whistles...enjoy your new toy!

That is a beautiful 1979 model!

That is one, that introduced the mark of the Vibra Groomer II brush roll. There were 3 others in this blue set too. Conrgats!=)

Yep,

'79 was when I bought mine when I got my first apartment. Seems like I paid about $85 for it. I had it until 1989 when I needed more above the floor cleaning power for my new house and large sectional sofa. I handed it down to my ex's sister, and got an 8290 Express powerteam. That still runs, but shuts down when it heats up.
The model 1279 brandywine powerteam I also bought my mom in '79 has outlasted them all. That power nozzle (VG I) does triple duty between my central vac, and a model 1290 brandywine cannned ham. Of course, the express VG II also works on the central vac. Same as a Beam rugmaster.
