I had an AP280 which was a great vacuum. The only thing I didn't like about it was the cloth hose which was very stiff. I bought mine in 1981...I walked into an Electrolux store with my mind set on getting the gold Super J but they told me they did not have any as the AP280 was the replacement so I bought it on the spot.
