This is a stretch, but the Roll-Easy in the first season of "I Dream of Jeannie", the color episode of "Hazel" in the first season, when she's in the color tv showroom, if you have those series. If you don't, just keep doing what you're doing, they're fantastic!

Just for the record, I bought "I Dream Of Jeannie" and "Hazel" from B.J.s which is a card club, like Sam's, for those who don't know. They were reasonably cheap, and put out by Sony Home Video.

In that pic of Lucy, where she is sitting in the chair all exhausted from trying to sell the Westinghouse vac, i remember she says " Well, you've just witnessed the death of another salesman!"

(in reference to the movie and play called "Death of a Salesman" that was popular at the time.)

Thanks for the pictures. I love spotting vacs in shows.
There's a few more from the last season of Andy Griffith. One has Emitt fixing a convertible. And a couple showing a constellation.
I also enjoyed the movie "That Thing You Do". It is set in 1964, but I noticed a few hoovers in the store that weren't built until the 80's. I guess most people don't know the difference.

Thanks for sharing them. I remember all of them except the "Raymond" episode. Think that one was on back when I was working two jobs--didn't see much TV during that time. And if I'm not mistaken, I think the Munsters episode may have been the only TV show to feature a Kenmore "torpedo" tank.

How about the Kirby in Mr. Mom! I have the movie on my Netflix list... have not seen it for years.

Mr. Mom -

If I remember correctly, "Jaws" was not a Kirby, but rather the one with the eyeball headlights. I could be totally wrong too...

Mr. Mom

No, it wasn't a "Bugeye," it was indeed a modified Kirby. Either a Classic or Classic Omega. I think it would have looked more menacing with the shag rake attached....

I have the movie.. it's a modified Classic. They apparently placed some sort of bulky transmission device on the side of it that they could control via remote control. It looks like it was where the em-tor should be. They also placed a different type of handle on the machine - which looks like that of a big indusitrial rotating floor polisher. Over all you could tell that they were trying to make the beast look more industrial and scary looking. And of course, they did their best to cover up all signs of the Kirby logo :)
