A dealer friend of mine gave me this D3C, cleaned it up, replaced the bearings, cleaned the fans, checked the carbon brushes and armature. Checked to see if the brushes were flaring when the motor was running, everything was fine. The pan cleaned up and almost looks new but I did have to replace the latches. Until I can find another D3C latch it has a D4C SE latch on one side. Rainbow no longer offers the brown D3C latches.

And NO Andy, I don't want to sell it!!!!

Looks GREAT. Beautiful restoration job. I still have one, brand new in the Box. Mine is a D3A from April, 1980.

I have one

That I got at Jon's house during Convention. It's not usable right now, the fans are very dirty (so I've been told) so it vibrates horribly. On top of that, the PN motor quit. Now I have to fix that too.

Tape

These have a problem with the plastic strip breaking off, and tape is the cheap solution. And you have to have the strip, or else it will expose a bunch of holes where air can get through.

You could always just use that Electrolux pn 2 .

Nope

The Rainbow has one long cord that goes from the machine all the way to the power nozzle. No pigtails.

Handsome

Rainbows. I was over the whole wood trim theme for anything from the 70's and 80's, but I almost hope it returns to fashion.
