Looks awesome. Cant wait to try one out! But, many small features that have been the same for YEARS are being changed, like the attachment clips. Still cool regardless! Comes out in the US in August this year.

Turns out these are already for sale on the Dyson UK site. £449 for the Animal, or £499 for the Absolute... maybe it's just me, but I think half a grand might be just a tiny bit too much for a rechargeable stick vac. That said, the current models are already very expensive for what they are, and Dyson have never had any problem shifting those.
The bin emptying mechanism looks to be an improvement, particularly the self-scraping shroud. It does appear though that the attachment locking clips are an entirely new system, with the latches now positioned on the tools themselves. The current setup can be bypassed using an aftermarket adaptor, so no doubt this is something Dyson are keen to stay one step ahead of. Trouble is, it will most likely find its way onto the rest of the Dyson lineup at some point in the future, a trick they have already pulled a couple of times in the past. If they don't offer an adaptor to get round this, people will be pissed off to find their £20 dusting brushes and £45 turbo brushes won't fit their new Dyson. |

Looks like a very decent improvement over the existing one. I have the v6 absolute and it is fantastic. Biggest gripe is the emptying of it as it collects so much dirt, it sticks round the shroud, but this looks to have completely addressed that.
Compared to mine, the max mode run time has increased by 1 minute to 7 minutes, and a compete run time of 40 minutes, 25 with the floor head which is a nice improvement. No added weight either, they haven't simply strapped on extra batteries but actually changed the battery chemistry make up to be more efficient. That is engineering. It's apparently quieter, the max mode suction has had a 15 air watt increase to 115 and I like the mechanical rocker switch between normal and max mode, meaning you don't have to start off and wait to see what mode it's in. |

Love it especially love the new bin emptying thing, they have finally made them hygienic to empty, and it looks like they're bringing it to a canister, I found this on a website that was sellingit but then it was taken down they must of put it up to early btw it was an Australian retailer.

Many great improvements over previous generations. Seems Dyson has FINALLY realized how much of a pain it is to scrape off the shroud. I have to do that every time I empty my V6 Absolute. Also, that canister is intriguing. Looks very cool. I wonder if it will have the Cinetic cyclones, and if they will bring the self scraping shroud to an upright. All in all, looks like Dyson has done it again with crazy, but practical innovation. Just what we know them for.
