Well, here is one thing I think we all love!
Do you like to call, text, email, or meet up with other collectors? I do!
I frequently talk with collectors John long (Gottahaveahoove), Toby Glenn (ge1969), Tom Gasko (Dysonman1), and Jimmy Martin (Rugsucker)
I also love to call or get together with local collectors such as Tyler M (goshoover), Jon D (no account), and Ray M (BikerRay)
What collectors do you enjoy talking vacuums with?
Andy Rousonelos

Since my job, five days per week, is talking to everyone and anyone who visits the Vacuum Cleaner Museum - I get burned out talking sweepers by the end of an 8 hour day.

It's a dream job, don't get me wrong. They built a Museum to house my collection. The collection is always growing - I get donations almost daily.

As far as talking about them with friends, I have a small group of close friends on a facebook group, where we talk about anything (including vacuums). I'm not much of a telephone person any more - we used to do that all the time before the internet.

I have lost touch

With some of my old collector friends, I do talk to Toby Glenn about 3 times a week, and I still talk to Clay Floyd and Mike Rogers, and I talk to Ron Jones about every day, Mike Rogers and Billy Lipman and Roger Proehl, but the internet has really changed things, back in the 90s I had a outrageous phone bill from all the long distance calls to vac collectors.

You should see my Cell phone bill!

phone bills. You should be using VOIP by now.

I use an OBIHAI device with google voice. This allows me to use a "soft phone" on my cell phone. (OBION app)

As long as I have a WIFI connection, the calls are free, since I am using the OBI device at home.

I ported over my land line number a long time ago. Once you have the OBI device, you only need Internet access to make a call. If you need 911 service, a small fee will activate it.

Unh Unh ! ! !

You treat technology like the old adage goes: Keep YOUR FRIENDS CLOSE, and YOUR ENEMIES EVEN CLOSER. Meaning, if ya snooze ya lose, as technology turns over so quickly that if ya blink ya miss a lot of it that seems to take forever to catch up to, and by the time you do that technology is then OBSOLETE! ! !

Remember 40 years ago when you bought a new stereo, you had the latest and greatest for 6 months? Now it's 6 DAYS ! ! !

There are great people here.

I am in contact with some regularly. I'm now talking to a few new ones, who seem to be very nice indeed.
From the VCCC/Vacuumland, I've made true friendships which will last a lifetime. Tom Anderson is one such person. Although no longer a member, we talk weekly, I visit his home at least once a year. Together, we have been inside every single
Hoover building, both open and even the closed ones. We've also been through TTI headquarters.
It's great to talk w/ fellow collectors, share ideas, etc.

You may call after 11 p.n. also. Sister Barbara calls me every night at 11:30...I'm the only relative she has left on the planet, and she live in the nuns'nursing home.I always enjoy hearing from you,
John
