Hey all,

Thought I would show one of my favourites, here is my 1989 Hoover Turbolite, rather basic really, but I love it! Kinda like the Turbopowers.

Looks similar to

a late 80's US Hoover Elite.

I think it is the same, just different branding.

Did you buy that from Alex. It looks like the one he had, right down to the writing on the bag that has been touched up with a red pen.

Post# 347272 , Reply# 6   3/12/2016 at 16:58 (2,937 days old) by HooverWhoBetter ()

I did touch up the lettering with one of my friends craft water based pens as it washed off almost completely so I re wrote it, but it bled a bit.

I got this off eBay a while ago.

Is Alex "Numaticvacuum"? on YouTube? if so, mine can't be that one as mine has a different plug.

But I got this about a year or so ago, was one of my dream machines. :)

It's easy enough to change a plug Alex.

I can't watch Numaticvacuum any more after he was nasty about me and my channel in this forum. He has quite a bad reputation among vacuum cleaner collectors and even has a few nick names that I can't repeat on an open forum like this one. I guess he likes to stir up trouble, but at least people are talking about him, though not in a good way.

If you're not Alex Raw opening a new account under an assumed name, I apologise and welcome to Vacuumland. It's a valuble resource for swapping information about our unusual hobby and on the whole it's a friendly place to visit if you ignore the trolls.

Back to the Turbolite

Anyway, for Steven Harley here's a link to the Turbolite I unboxed. Since the video it has had a good clean and a new agitator and other parts replaced. I managed to gently handwash the bag without removing the lettering and hope to make a full demo video of it soon.

Post# 347351 , Reply# 10   3/13/2016 at 06:23 (2,937 days old) by HooverWhoBetter ()

I really eish I had hand washed the bag on mine, but I decided to go all hell for leather and throw it in the washer! Well the lettering doesn't look brilliant now but at least the bag is clean I suppose.

I was surprised you thought the Turbolite was mediocure, I thought they were very good personally.

I did find for the tools though, the hose suction on a Turbopower was more powerful than it was on the Turbolite.

I hand washed my bag and it was OK. With a new brushroll and fleece bags the performance may be better than I remember. I may get the tools for it if I can.

I believe eSpares sells the tool kit, but I could be wrong.

I have the tool kit for mine, it isn't really much to write home about. Haha.

Where did you get the fleece bags?

The fleece bags are from Ebay.

They are more than twice the width of the originals but fit OK. They are also good for the two Maytag
uprights I have.

What's the serial number on this? Someone will be able to date it for you.

Well, Alex, since you know full well how to date Hoover's, nobody needs to date it for you. You've already done it yourself in your video and also talk about touching the logo up with the red pen.

Sorry to catch you out, but serial numbers are unique. The "HooverWhoBetter" name didn't do you any favours either, since you quote that so much.

I don't know what you mean, James, I was only going to date it for "Steve" and then I was watching Alex's video and well the rest is kind of obvious.

Although some people clearly aren't very good at hiding themselves, given that Alex only got banned last night and a new UK member talking about a vacuum that Alex owns shows up the next day? Far too coincidental. The HooverWhoBetter name was kind of obvious too.

Ahh, sorry Chris I didn't see your post on The Broom Cupboard before posting here.

Yes some people really don't have the knack for covering their tracks. I did think myself that this was a case of 'too soon after'.

Anyway, I know what will solve this recurring problem and that would be to block the person's IP address once and for all but I don't think the webmaster has access to such a feature unfortunately. This sort of occurrence really brings down the morale of the community.

James

So you're a Hoover fanboy who happenes to own a cleaner that was bought from Alex Raw, your username is one of Alex's favourite quotes and coincidentally decided to sign up to a forum the day after Alex was banned? Add to the fact that Steven & Harley are Alex's middle names.

You're fooling nobody.

Funnily enough mine came with the white Hoover branded plug, it could of been changed possibly. It is a very good machine, I don't really use it that much because I want to keep it in good condition as I understand that you can't buy many parts for this now.

Would you like me to list the reasons why I don't like you, Alex? That could take a while & would be a total waste of everyone's time, since you already know.

Post# 347450 , Reply# 26   3/13/2016 at 18:13 (2,936 days old) by HooverWhoBetter ()

I have no idea what is going on here but I can see there has been some upset from me posting so I am sorry if I have upset anyone, I don't think I will post here again.

Sorry for any upset.

Steven.

Some people really can't admit when they are caught out and in the wrong can they? Instead, they bury whatever tattered remains they have left of their reputation 6ft under and keep digging!

Hold on a minute here. If Alex Raw, AlexHoovers94, is banned from Vacuumland, then why is his username still showing up as a active member here & not as closed? Below is a link to a post where the username is still showing as active.
