I have a question on the Kenmore C/5055 bags. I haven't bought the bags in a few years, but last time I did they had white regular bags and yellow allergen bags that have the extra white layer inside. Those are the ones I was buying and came in a blue Homecare package. My mom usually bought the Rug Doctor bags for hers and I noticed the ones she was buying lately also seem to have the white allergen layer inside, so I figured they are close to the same thing.

But last week she said she can't get the Rug Doctor bags anymore so she went to Sears to get them. I looked at the ones she bought and they are different than what I used to get there. The bags are white, not yellow and say "Kenmore Allergen Filtration" on them. The package is white and pink and says Kenmore "fits both 5055/C/Q" and a whole list of model numbers of Panasonic and Kenmore.

So are these the same as the yellow Homecare allergen bags I was buying? I went to Sears website and all it shows are these white bags, so I guess they no longer have the cheap white non-allergen bags? I'm confused.

IF the bags are white and in a white and pink package, then they are the Genuine Kenmore allergen filtration bags. It seems like Kenmore has been modernizing things lately, so they though the yellow bag color was not "modern" enough. And, yes, the yellow HomeCare bags you have been buying are Genuine Kenmore marketed under a different name. They may or may not have the HomeCare ones at your Sears, but they do at mine. I think the non allergen bags were discontinued? Not sure.

Currently Kenmore offers 2 bags styles. The yellow is a paper bag material that is their base standard which is a reasonable allergan standard compared to many other manufacturers baseline bag!!

The white C\Q bag is allerfgan filtration but actually a cloth HEPA bag. They are phenomenal and will leave your vacuum compartments spotless.

For a great generic HEPA similar cloth bag that is far cheaper than the Sears Ultracare care line, I recommend you to the green package line by Envirocare. The package number for the Kenmore Q bag is A137, a 3 pack is $2.69 from discount cleaning products vendor below that is a great place to find parts and supplies!
