Well, I bought myself a birthday gift and it finally arrived. A brand-new Kirby Sentria. I haven't bought myself a brand-new Kirby in a while and got the urge. My late partner used to buy me the new machines for special occasions. This made me generally easy to buy for. Anyway, here is the box. The seller did a great job of packing and included a bunch of goodies along with the machine in the box. He packed it well. He is going to get good Ebay feedback.

Here is what was in that box

compactelectra's profile picture
The machine, the turbo tool, the shampoo system, the floor polishing brush, a complete set of additional tools in a mesh bag, the Zip Brush and a Riccar mini turbo brush. What a surprise! Well done. I didn't expect the extras. He also included a few extra packages of HEPA bags. For those of you who have bought these, they ain't cheap!

All Put Together

compactelectra's profile picture
All in all she went together very easily. Having Kirbys going back to the fifties, I am very impressed. The most contemporary machine I have is the G5. This baby is much lighter. A great improvement. I have heard the complaints about this machine, but don't have many complaints myself. A great American-built machine. Solid as a rock and just in time for spring cleaning.

It is a beautiful design. I like the headlight. I think it is halogen. Definitely different.

Now for the attachments

I don't really like the Generation attachments compared to the older ones, but not bad. The suction for an upright is incredible.

Floor Polisher

The Kirby floor polishers are great. Here she is all set up. The housing is now plastic, but that doesn't seem to detract from the machine. It probably is a good thing since it is also used for the shampoo unit.

That's very pretty, sort of a medieval look about it. I bet it will perform as well as the others.

Fabulous!

That really is a very pretty machine... It's really grown on me since the first time I saw it.

And once again, happy birthday!

Feel free to buy me a birthday present, any time you wish! *wink*
I, like you, am very easy to shop for.

I bet you've gotten the whole house cleaned from top to bottom!

Looks very nice!

I'm with Pete, I'd keep it nice and not use it much.
I am looking forward to seeing that in a couple of weeks.
Shall I bring my Diamond G along for comparison?

Fred congratulations on your Sentria

I love mine and have been using it weekly here. I have to admit, the shampooer is great too.

Keep us posted as you use it and compare it with the G5 you had.

Matt :-)

Fred, that's fantastic! Enjoy! I was just talking to Terry or someone in Florida that I was wondering what the latest Kirby was like since I hadn't really kept up, and now I've seen it. I really like the look of it, and if it's lighter that's a good thing!

Now thats what I call a Birthday Gift,, I`m sure you will enjoy it, used one last month and it deffo is a lot lighter, although I love my G5 as a daily driver....I just wanted those halogen rays to be a little stronger like rivulets of blue light hitting the carpet.....

Enjoy, Mike
