Its better, lighter and easier to use than a new Kirby, If I were you I would go over it with some metal polish and leave it at that. |

Just use a mild dish soap on the rubber, and chrome polish on the metal. A small buffing wheel on a Dremel type tool on low won't burnish it. I wish I still had my moms. She sold it after I moved out. |

soak it in the laundry sink, or bathtub in warm sudsy water. Agitate by hand occasionally. Rinse and hang dry. |

I got mine on ebay with full set of attachments including Rug Renovator for $52.00 about 2 years ago. It had a factory rebuild in 1989 and then was stored in an attic for for 25 years when my seller got it in an estate sale. All I did was shine it up with some Mother's. It runs like brand new. |
