Well... Im back! New name, same kooky collector.

You may all remember me under the name Brandon_W_T. For some reason the account seems to have disappeared.

But recently back into collecting I suppose. Got a few machines. Most are antique so Ill just start here with some pics.

Thanks to Greg from Omaha for hanging on to a few of my very prized beauties, My 63, 31 and 65.

Also have my new unused with box Compact, daily tristar and kirby diamond edition and a mid 90s royal upright.

Glad to have spent some time with good friends and remind myself of the fun I had a few years back with everyone. Hope to expand my collection some more with a few dream machines. Not going to try and hit 45 machines again, now that I'm in an apartment but Ive got a few "must haves" to search for.

Hey look buddy....

We don't go for no "same kooky collector" business around here.  We're all serious, OCD, single minded, vacuum nuts ......and don't forget it.

Actually, I think I've crossed the 40th vacuum to my collection today.

I can't believe how quickly they add up.  I started my recent collection back in October.  It was my second Electrolux Legacy that did it.

BTW- you have some colorful Hoovers there.  I love the Hoover colors from the 60s to the 80s.

Yep I had about 50 machines at one time. Lots of fun stuff. A lot of regrets for the machines I got rid of. Had a constellation that was practically brand new in box, completely flawless. A completely brand new remanufactured Kirby D80 with 100% new parts, many rare convertibles, etc etc. Let most of them go for pennies to the dollar.

Brandon, I've been there.  I've had about 4 collections in my life.  The most recent one was in 2002.  I had upwards of 50 vacs then which I had amassed in merely a matter of a couple of months.... without the help of Ebay or online support.

I wish I had back EVER Vacuum I ever owned.

Can I ask, what happened?  Why'd you get rid of them.

I moved away from collecting when I moved out of my parents, and became independent. Liquidated the collection. Got in a relationship and moved into a high-rise. Became busy with work and cars and such.

Lots of big life changes happened and I never found the time for cleaning, restoring and searching for machines.

I kept my new Compact because I couldn't ever let that go, and after moving yet again I acquired my Kirby Diamond edition for daily use. Some fun goodwill adventures for computer stuff helped me stumble across a royal upright which I snagged up...

... and well bam I'm back into searching for vacuums more and more. But I am very content with the machines I have. My 3 vintage hoovers were from my former collection years ago, and my great friend in town kept them for me in storage.

Those three hoovers above were far to nice to part with, with the exception of the 31 special convertible. But they all run like new, and show mostly all original components (minus handle bail on the green vertible.

You have a pretty sweet collection there Brando.
I see some good Hoovers there as well, nice! Welcome back aboard? I'm still fairly new to this site myself. LOL However the guys here have been great.

My parents use a Kirby Diamond G as their daily driver since they bought it new. As for me, I've been daily driving my Hoover model 700 that I recently repaired. I'm mostly a Hoover guy but I do love Electrolux machines as well.

Thanks! Your machines look great too! Nice 450 you have there and your 700 appears to have the original bumper as well.

This photo is rather old, since then I've done some small things like find a new bag thanks to a friend and also replaced the cord. Still much to do, but money is quite tight with these projects.

Thanks Phillip. That's about the only thing holding this 31 back from being near perfect

I think I'll be retiring the Kirby as a daily and using the 65 and 63 daily. They run like new.
