Hi Guys,

Interesting to see the Aerus Fresh Era has been replaced with a Tacony 9 pound vacuum and it looks pretty nice. It would have been great to see the metal brush roller assy. but the wood roller is good as well. Definitely a step in the right direction adding the best light weight vacuum on the market, made in the USA with premium branding. I am a little surprised but in a good way and can't wait to seen it in person. Anyone done a side by side with the Fresh Era? It's on the Aerushome.com site now.

Brian

As much as I do like the Riccar/Simplicity versions of it I'm a little dissapointed with Aerus for just rebadging a product. I'm pretty sure the 1st version of the Fresh Era was also a rebadge as well, but it just kinda gives off a feeling of laziness.

Yes, I agree Devin;

When Maytag began doing it, it was the beginning of their end.
Who will buy who though? Will Aerus buy Tacony, or will Tacony buy Aerus?
Or they may have a long partnership like Sears and Panasonic?

Tacony has a long history of private labeling their vacuums for manufacturers who either can't or won't innovate on their own.

The Fresh Era is a Hoover. Made in China, private labeled for Aerus. It's also available as a Hoover and a Royal, as well as a Rubbermaid.

Tacony also private labeled for Hoover when they were here in America. The Riccar 8000 series as well as the Simplicity Freedom were private labeled, and sold in Hoover Authorized Service Centers.
