~ I have an unusual set of Electrolux aluminum wands that are unlike any others I've ever seen. Typically, the aluminum wands are polished with a shiny finish (although, granted, not as shiny as chrome).
The unusual wands I'm referring to are not polished aluminum; they have a rather dull "satin" finish. It's the same finish that mid-century Hoover machines had (Convertible, Constellation, etc.). It may be hard to see what I'm describing in the photos, but they have a completely different type of finish.
Now, it's not that this set of wands is dull or tarnished: I have sets that are not shiny like they are when new. It really is a different surface.
I wonder if they are a set of prototypes, or perhaps the earliest version of aluminum wands that appeared with the late-version of the E-Automatic. (Maybe people thought they were ugly, so they were changed to a polished finish.)
