On my G4, when I am pushing the cleaner with the tech-drive in neutral, and the power off, I hear a noise coming from the transmission area, like gears are turning.. is this normal? Sometimes it does it and sometimes it doesn't..usually whenever I turn to go around a corner is when it starts the noise. Any ideas?

The G4 I had did that too!

It seemed to work fine, though...I've sold it now, so I'm not too worried!

G4 tech-drive

Hi.
No its not normal.
The gear/lever the flicks it in to drive is not coming out fully so it catches the gears in side when its suppose to be out of gear,
The tech-drive just needs cleaning out and a bit of lube put on it so it can slip all the way out again. That's normally the most common problem.

Hope you get it sorted.

What James is referring to is a small "finger-like" lever that wears and needs to be replaced. This usually takes care of the problem.

Since you mention this problem, I have several G Series Kirby's that have this problem also, and it's because that little lever has worn. They make that sort of grinding noise when in neutral. Does anyone know where to find a replacement lever? Thanks.
