Might want to service the motor with new grease/oil. A lot of these end up dying off due to lack of/old lubrication.
My Portable almost bit the dust when I heard the motor slow down and screech and shut it off immediately after that. Thankfully I shut it down quickly and with some new lubricants I managed to save the original motor. Still runs great to this day! |

"....accidentally own 2 of the green ones, maybe 3..."
With 400+, I can see where this would happen. I only have about 35, and am unsure on a how many Eurekas I have at the moment.
I had a portable way back in about 1980. I picked it up on the curb (when I was 12) and it worked fine. The only thing broke was the neck of the floor tool. It was a brownish color and did not have the retractable cord, not as nice to look at as this slate version.
