Yeyo, so what are, or were common vacuums there? I know more about cars there, like the VW beetle being common, and other VW's, smaller Nissans, and back in the day, the Ford Galaxie 500, Maverick, etc. |

It is indeed an Electrolux cleaner although whether imported for sale or just brought over by a private individual is unknown. Volta is widely known in Europe as an alternative Electrolux brand, we really need input from Doug Smith for definitive answers for sales in North America. This style of cleaner was sold in the UK from around 1946 until 1961 (Models 30, 55 & 62) with some styling differences. It was even sold here as a Volta although it had a different handle.
A similar style was also sold in Canada in the early 1950s although it has different runners on the base - this looks like the European version. Al |
