common vacuums in Mexico

Yeyo, so what are, or were common vacuums there?
I know more about cars there, like the VW beetle being common, and other VW's, smaller Nissans, and back in the day, the Ford Galaxie 500, Maverick, etc.

Hello, As far as I know, until the NATIONAL era in the early 70s, all the 1940s, 50s and 60s, the vacuums were sold in stores like SEARS so foreign brands almost 100% american brands were the common vacuums.

In a 1954 Catalog from Sears Mexico, it is listed, no image, a vacuum with no brand, I guess it is an electrolux.

Then during the NATIONAL era you can see other few but other brands, maybe from socialist countries.

And as for vacuums made in Mexico, I dont think there are mexican vacuums, maybe just the name and ensambled in Mexico but not made in Mexico.

In another big catalog store, from the year 1978, a General Electric Vacuum wa sold.

Hoover was another brand sold.

And the one that was the most famouse because of a particular TV ad, was KOBLENZ, here in youtube there is a video to the ad.

It is indeed an Electrolux cleaner although whether imported for sale or just brought over by a private individual is unknown. Volta is widely known in Europe as an alternative Electrolux brand, we really need input from Doug Smith for definitive answers for sales in North America. This style of cleaner was sold in the UK from around 1946 until 1961 (Models 30, 55 & 62) with some styling differences. It was even sold here as a Volta although it had a different handle.

A similar style was also sold in Canada in the early 1950s although it has different runners on the base - this looks like the European version.

Koblenz vacs sold in Mexico were designs licensed by Eureka Williams. The canisters and tools were almost identical to the Princesses of the 1960's.

Sears Mexico?

my dad was with Sears 33 years. Not once did the monthly news letter ever mention it.
