When my local vac shop closed on March 13, 2014, I got a few items that they were going to throw out. One such item was a fairly new China Pride Electrolux Versatility upright. It's been in the garage since March 13, 2014, and I finally decided to clean it up. I took as much of it apart as I could, and gave it the spa treatment. It still needs a belt and brushroll, but the motor sounds good otherwise. I may sell it, or I may keep it. The contemporary aspect of my collection is sorely lacking.

I thought they looked cool! Never tried one, or heard one

I have one

They are actually a pretty decent vacuum.  My biggest criticism is that there is a lot of handle weight, the machine feels very heavy and fatigues my wrist.  The bagless capture system "does clog, and does lose suction" if you don't keep that little foam filter washed almost every use.

The machine is relatively quiet, and appears to clean pretty well.  Grooms the carpet fairly well.  Kind of leaves corn rows instead of continuous grooming tracks.    It does have a nice long cord so I can do the entire main floor without re-plugging.

The dirt container hinge broke somehow and now the door just drops off instead of swinging open.  I usually take it out tot he compost bin to empty so not too messy.
