Someone on the list is making a TriStar available to me, but it's going to need a few things to be complete. This is the older TriStar, not the newer MG series.

Poking around on the Internet, I find comparatively few parts resources, though TriStar Canada has a nice parts page with parts diagrammes and a wiring schematic. The U.S. sources I find seem to carry only the easy stuff like hoses, tools, bags and filters.

Since ordering from Canada has become a bit problematic (thank you, Homeland Security- nice to know we're all safe from vacuum parts), I wonder if anyone knows a good U.S. source.

I've had good luck...

With Essco.

And they're reasonably priced. Some of the Tri Star parts can get kinda pricey though...

Fred:

Thanks for the link. It says they're wholesale only- how do you deal with them? Are you a repair person with a shop? I wasn't able to look anything up, since that requires an approved registration; they want you to file a credit app for your business to get registered.

Any tips?

I don't.

I don't have a personal account with them yet...but plan on getting one sooner than later. I have had experiences with them in the past (we ordered all of our non-Hoover parts through them when I worked at Hoover, and would frequently place personal orders). You can just keep a credit card on file with them from what I understand--or fill out a credit app.

Once you register with them, you can get a username and password to get access to their site and price look-up pages.

The people in the order-department are also very helpful.

I think Charlie uses Essco...

Hope this has been of some help.

You can also order parts from Hesco. Their website is www.hesconinc.com.... They have parts diagrams that show how the parts all fit together. And you don't have to be a vac shop to order from them. You can also order directly from Tri Star. I in fact called Tri Star and received an owner's manual for my CXL for free I think. They also sent along with it a parts list with prices. Good luck on your quest for the parts you need!
