I just purchased a single-owner Hoover 728 for $15. It is in very good working condition, and I read through some old threads, but still need some help. When I run the vacuum, it smells like old perfume after a short time - bad enough that it gives me a headache. I believe it's the groovy floral bag, not the dust bag. Any thoughts on cleaning the original floral bag to remove the smell? The bag has some minor fraying, so I'd also like to do anything I can to protect it from further damage (maybe applying Fray Check, which is a fabric adhesive meant to prevent raw edges from fraying). I'm in the Chicago suburbs, and it sounds like there may be some Hoover specialists close by to help me in the future with service, replacing the lightbulb, belts, etc. Thanks everyone in advance! Susan
