Its times like this that I really wish I knew how too put up pictures on here!! I just got a brand new in the box Sani-Way canister ( red ) complete with everything! I cannot find a date on it but the cover of the instruction book says that the cost of the complete machine was $159,95 anyone have any idea what year this could be....It does have the RED cloth hose on it and all metal tools with RED bumpers.
Thanks
~David

The Red Saniway

Was called the Mark IV, it came out in 1964, and with flat wheels and a braided hose was made thru 1971,1972 -76 had ball casters and a vinyl hose,Also the earlier model had a metal cover over the motor, the later one had a plastic snap on cage over the motor,The first Saniway came out in 1961 and was a brownish gold, it was a Kingston in drag basically,I knew mr Cyrus Fox who was the first Saniway distributor , he had the whole state of North Carolina and his shop, Saniway of Asheville NC is still operating, he has passed on, but I did find out the history of Saniway, the guy who started the company was a AirWay dealer , he was able to get Douglas Products of Bronson Michigan to build the machine for him, I cant remember his name, but He and MrFox worked together in Atlanta Ga with AirWay, Since Mrs Fox was from Asheville and wanted to go back home, he gave MrFox the whole state of NC if he would go with him, Cyrus did and told me he sold over 40,000 between 61 and 76 when the man who owned the Vac U Way Co, that sold the
Saniway died and having no children, his wife closed it down.

You CAN get close to the exact date....

The Lamb motor has a date stamped on it.
