Hi Again, Folks!
Well, my Electrolux Diploamt really needs a hose as the only one I can find around here is $90 at a vacuum shop. Is anyone here selling a cheaper one? it can be genuine, Generic, or Woven (with approx. 60% suction or better). Also, could someone give me some info on the machine? I have a picture from before i got it and when i find my 'freeking' camera will post another picture. Thanks! Andy Rousonelos |

That switch is really a circuit breaker, on some of the models you could push the lever forward which pressed down on the circuit breaker and shut off the power nozzle. The lever may not be moving far enough forward or the circuit breaker pin is not long enough to be pushed down by the lever. I'm trying to remember if the 1692 had 3 positions off, on and reset or was it just reset.
On another note Wayne still has the Epic 6000 and the Epic 6500 at the shop, if you're still looking. |

Well, I found my Camera! Here are some pictures! Nathan mistakenly misplaced the correct Sliders and Fliter Cover so he will send those with my ambassador and I will switch them out.
The vacuum isnt perfect, and a few cracks were glued, but it works! Im fixing the wobbly power nozzle neck later. |

Should there be a seal Ring here? My Silverado (and other metal canisters have this)

Well, there is a reason I wanted this model so bad. But to know that, you have to go back to the year 1955 when my Grandmother got her First Electrolux, her LXI, for a wedding present. I have pictures somewhere.
Grandmother loved Electrolux. Im buying one of EVERY model she had. Every vacuum she ever owned was; Electrolux: -LXI -AF, no power nozzle -Late model G (pn1) -Golden Jubilee (pn2) -Silverado (pn5) -Grand Marquise (pn 1622) -Ambassador (Pn 6a) -Diplomat Lx (pn 1692) -Epic 6000 (pn 1693) Hoover: -PowerDrive (i was given when she and Gradfather moved to assisted living) -Celebrity (deluxe, had wheels) Kenmore: -Whispertone Upright, hunter Green -Progressive 300 Upright (Recently rescued from attic) By the time I was 2, she only had her 2 Kenmore's, Hoover PowerDrive, and all her Lux's minus the LXI, AF, and Golden Jubilee. The Silverado was my favorite to play with since it had a 'big kickover' switch i played with. The Diplomat was my favorite to use since it lit up and looked cool. The Diplomat was the one I used when i vacuumed with a canister, the Whispertone Upright when i used an upright. When I was 4, my grandparents sold the house. it was a HUGE place! 7000 square feet! My grandparents had a going away party and the next day i was to vacuum the house one last time before they left. I used the Diplomat. I went through 4 bags! I cried because i didnt want to let the electrolux go. Fast foreward to February 2015. My uncle was giving me one of the Electrolux's. When my grandparents moved, the vacuums were either given to the family or sent to goodwill. Uncle wasnt sure what model lx it was, just that is was blue and white. I thought it was a Diplomat. It ended up being an Ambassador III that he tossed by mistake! He felt bad and bought me an Lx. Well, thats my story! Thanks for reading! |
