So, I had my eye on this one for awhile. It did come with a Moulinex (might do a thread, don't know though) I almost got it about a month ago but stupidly I forgot to bid on the damn thing! Started to bid on it this time but the other bidder went way too high for my liking so I backed out. A few days later however, I got a message from the seller offering it me as the previous bidder didn't want it anymore.

So I got it for £16 and £10 Postage.

I'm honestly not interested in the Moulinex but oh well! I have been wanting to get my hands on a Dustette for ages, so I couldn't pass. :P

Unfortunately though, it is WAY more sun damaged than I thought it would be. Well, in the picture it didn't look sun damaged. Oh wells!

Before video (of the Dustette)

Before ~

Before pictures as always.

The bag was choca-full! No wonder it sounded blocked. At least they did use a genuine bag .

Surprisingly the fan chamber and fan are in pretty good shape. Especially the fan.

Fan removed and a shot of all the hair around the motor spindle. No wonder she sounded sluggish.

A hand-written Number 4. Odd, could this mean it's the 4th one off of production? Or was it just someone got bored and stuck a little sticker on and wrote on it? Probably the latter :P

And then onto the cheap-crappy towel with two Moulnex bits.

The bag after one wash and rinse. After that I left it to soak in some fresh water with some washing powder.

Currently, the parts are still drying, the bag is still soaking and the motor has been stripped down and awaiting a pair of new shiny bearings.

Once the motor has been sorted and everything is re-assembled I will post more pictures.

Nice find..

Thats a nice find, i have the one a bit older than this one still with a metal body. But the fan on yours looks like a Hoover Turbopower suction fan?

Dont know if its the same machine as the youtube video channel, but i really enjoy watching the unboxing and intros of the vacs with that guy. Thats the most fun part of getting a new machine to unbox it.

Regards

Ruan Fouche

@Turbo500 Ta 😊

@Vaclover ~ The video I posted on here is mine along with the channel and all the videos :) Also yep its the same style fan as a Turbopower 1 just smaller though.

UPDATE

Currently the bearings are off and the new ones are ready to go on after Christmas when I can be bothered. The brushes have been reseated as the had some issues and upon closer inspection the commutator has some light threading, bar burning and copper drag issues.

UPDATE ~

So, now Xmas is out of the way, I decided to go and sort out the bearings. I put the bearings on and left the armature in the shed overnight to continue reassembly the next day. Came back in the evening of the next day and this happened.

Now I'm fuming to put it lightly.
