My good friend, Bob Humphreys, along with a few close St. Louis vacuum collector friends, came to my house on Saturday evening for dinner. I always enjoy cooking for my friends. We had Sautéed Chicken Breasts, nestled in home made Dressing, topped with chicken Pan Gravy. Asparagus, glazed carrots, home made dinner rolls, and Blueberry Muffins for desert rounded out the meal.

Bob topped off the evening by bringing me this Brand New In the Box, never used, Rainbow SE Performance Edition vacuum cleaner. It was a rug virgin until we rode it hard and put it away wet. Well...not wet. I intend to keep this one a long time. I showed Donnie how to use it, and he agreed to alternate the Central Vacuum (which we refer to as 'the flaps' - as in the 'flaps' on the wall) with the Rainbow. Was shocked at how much dirt the Rainbow got out of our rugs it's very first time cleaning anything.

This Rainbow was made April 12, 1996. Donnie was shocked I used it, but I see no point in keeping it brand new. You can't throw it into the coffin with me when I'm gone.

Many thanks to my good friend Bob for this wonderful machine, and all my St. Louis friends for coming to see my new home and have a holiday dinner. They were shocked we had a Christmas tree up and decorated plus lights on the house. There is only one other house on our street with their lights up. We wanted to blend into our new neighborhood, but no one else is in the holiday mood I guess.

WOW

That is an incredible gift and find. Nothing like a brand new vacuum that has been in the box for 20 + years.

I have been on a rainbow kick myself lately. My D4C has gotten quite a bit on use in the last month.

I'm having a blast with mine (same model). I got it used & abused about a month ago and restored it and love "chasing" the wife around showing her the dirt suspended in the water bowl.

Reminds me of the SE my parents bought back in 1992; we were going to have the chrome dome D repaired but ended up buying the SE & had the D motor rebuilt. Since my parents bought the SE, I had came across several chrome dome Rainbow D2s
