Hello again, Getting to a point now where I may just be only posting things on here once every while but I am still not yet done with posting more cool pics from my recent thrift shop finds and I will be posting pictures or videos of my collection here pretty soon.
Anyway, here I have is this Panasonic which belongs to my uncle that he bought brand new in the mid 90's. You may see that there's a piece of chip that came off from the dust cover which was not his fault (last guy who serviced this vac broke it off). It doesn't effect the performance on this thing but my uncle has been getting tired of that showing which I have been hunting for a replacement cover for it but they don't make them anymore or neither I can't find one online. But if any of you guys has ever found one of these if I can part out of and pay full price for, I would be greatly appreciated. I also wouldn't mind paying shipping for it as well. This is my uncle's favorite vacuum of all time, he doesn't want to ever replace this with any other vacuum. He's been taking care of this like all of us collectors would take care of all our vacuums. This is tied with being my favorite vacuum of all time (the other is a 82' Vacu-maid P-125 central vacuum my grandpa owns and uses) |

Along with it's older sister, my step-aunt's JET-FLO MC-6210
You can tell the difference just by looking at it.

Overall it's fine if I can't find the part for it. Pretty soon my uncle will be fully moving into his other house where they have a central vac and they may not need all 3 vacuums so what I could do is part my step aunt's JET-FLO she might give to me and mix some paint colors on the JET-FLO dust cover to paint the exact match of the MC-V6255 with a glossy finish. I know someone who could do that but I rather find a part for it first.
Thanks! |

This is so interesting. Bringing back an old question I posed at some point here on Vacuumland: Where was the first American Matsushita vac-making plant located? And when did it open? I am not talking about the Whirlpool vacuum factory they later purchased in Kentucky.
When Matsushita/Panasonic started selling vacs in North America, they were imported from Japan. Now with this post, I learn that at some point they indeed set up an assembly line for vacs in the USA. Does anyone have any newspaper clippings providing details such as date and place of the opening of this factory? *fingers crossed* :-) |

Well I got some good news and some bad news. The good news is that this vacuum is now officially mine. Yesterday I got word that my uncle sold their place, they no longer need some of their vacuums because their new house is putting in a central vacuum system and they already gave them to me. The bad news is that I still haven't had any luck finding the dust cover for this model. I have a MC-6210 dust cover that I could paint as I previously mentioned but I'd still rather find the correct part because I know I'm not the only one with this model.
Again if any of you guys have this part, please let me know. I would gladly pay full price for it (Including shipping). This is one of my top 3 favorite vacuum cleaners of all time (I even forgot to mention the Panasonic MC-V7387 from the first post). I will also post this in the supermarket forum as well and I will update when of if I get this part. Part number for this is: #AMC60K-V43W006 |
