I've been searching for a specific style of cloth wire, which seems to have been used quite a bit on c. 1920 appliances. It's a twisted pair with a woven covering. Sundial wire has a similar product called overbraid, but it's too large a gauge and it has 3 conductors instead of 2, which changes the look. Is anyone currently producing this wire? I'd like to buy a roll of it since I have about a dozen projects that I need it for, such as my Hoover models 102 & 105, Apex, a few old Kenmores, and many others. Attached is a photo of what I'm talking about. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks for suggesting this as it's just what I need too.
I've got several old vacuum cleaners with twisted wire cords that are so old I don't dare plug them in. One of these is the first model of the Air-Way uprights, and dates back to 1920, another is the Electrolux model V. I just looked up this cord and it's also available in black, so I plan to get a lot of it for my restoration projects. |
