Hi all, I just picked up this Hoover 62. It looked so similar to the 63 but I am amazed at the differences. Is this the time when they started designing the machine more for women? -- the handle is a little shorter on the 63.

The 63 bag is in good conditions so I was thinking of switching the hood over, they are the same aren't they? I am not sure I am going to do this but I am considering it as then they 63 would be in really good shape.

I also wanted to add, that looking through the archives, the bags for the 62 seem to be a problem. I put an upside down Kenmore upright bag in mine, a 18H86. It seem to work really good.

The bag on the 63 is fatigued, but in color only. I am considering trying to dye it, and will let you know how it goes. Thanks for looking both work great.

They both look great! While I was at my aunts house I took a walk down 57th Street and there was a nice brick home with front porch with an elderly lady using a Hoover 62 which I was surprised as it looked brand new. I waved & she motioned for me to come closer so I did we sat & chatted for a while when she realised who's grandchild I was she told me my grandmother & her mother were close friends. It's so nice to be remembered as small kids running in the field playing baseball & other games with the neighbour kids. So nice to see she still uses that vacuum as its age appropriate with the house.

THE REASON THE HANDLE LOOKS SHORTER IS THE 62 HAD THE GRIP
YOU CAN USE THE 63 HOOD ON YOUR 62
AS A MATTER OF FACT 99%OF THE PARTS FOR A 29 62 63 64 634ARE INTERCHANGEABLE
AND I CAN USE A GOOD MANY PARTS ON MY 61

HOPE THIS HELPS
HOOVER 61

And a

61-62 or 63 will out clean and out last any of this garbage made today, the only down side is the hose suction is pitiful, but for rug cleaning they are top notch.
