So I am continuing my restoration of the Eureka canister and am having a problem with the cord reel being...lazy, sporadic.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to "lubricate" it or is that just a sign of age and needs replacing. I have had it pulled from the machine, and can do it again for access.

Still looking for the chrome wands.

Thanks,
G.

Cord reel fixed

I got this working. It was missing the cardboard guide which I did get from a nice non-member. After installing the guide, I pulled the cord all the way out, carefully cleaned the whole length, dusted with talc. and this did the trick.

Even though I did not get any replies/responses, I thought I would share the repair.
I will continue to share tips as I find them.

All I need for this vacuum is the black square dusting brush, tool support cover and a manual.

i am sure I will find these eventually.
