I found a nice 510 with the original box and manuals and even the deoderizing liquid, with a neat little ad tucked in side. I love finding vacuums with their original packaging/manuals.

Nice.

Aside from the wrong bag, and trim on the sani-em-tor, you have an amazing find. Even the instruction book and a belt. I also noticed 2 straps for the shoulder portable.

I love finding the original paperwork too! I bought a box of 561 attachments that came with TWO manuals. One for the 561, and a second 561 manual I've never seen before! It was fully black and white,I gotta scan it one of these days. laughing

Congrats! Too bad it's not an original power cord. Super awesome nonetheless. So jealous!!

Correct, because the original had a round female end to fit the receptacle (Kirby discontinued that cord in the 1980s). The red bumper first showed up on the model 513.

I would think it could be impossible to find a Kirby of that vintage with the original bag and cord-remember these are the parts that get the most wear!I can remember the Kirby we had similar to this had a replacement bag-was replaced when I was a teen. The attachments got lost during a move. Then the machine succumbed to a flood in 1972.

I love finding older vacs with their original paperwork, it's like a trip back in time!

The Heritage 2 I bought a few years ago, (not a vintage vacuum by these standards compared to a 510) still had the original paperwork including invoice, VHS instruction video and the plastic hubcap protector stickers on the wheels.

I wish I could find a nice vintage machine like this with pretty much everything still with it.
