Is this Electrolux from 1930's or 1940's?

Trying to pin down the date of this vintage Electrolux vacuum cleaner. It has flat runners, it says 475 Watts on bottom edge, the end cap where you replace the bag is aluminum i think. It is not shiny like chrome. It has "saloon style" exhaust doors.
Thanks very much!

Pre-War model XXX. You can tell from the black rubber bumper on dusting brush, the pre-war style rug tool, and the flat runners. The hose is from a 1960's model G.

Classic Electrolux.

Hi budrick:

What you have is a early version of the model xxx (30) however, the hose is not original, nor is the sprayer.

The Electrolux model xxx was introduced in 1937, and ran till the early 1950's. The early model xxx's had flat runners, whereas the later versions had rounded runners.

The sprayer goes to the model LX which ran from 1952 to 55, and the hose is about 1960. The rug tool and so on are also very old, most likely 1937 to 41. I can't see the wands very well, but if they are steel then pre 1954 when Electrolux introduced aluminum wands with the model E. The cord is also very old.

There are others here who know the exact year, but rest assured you have a great machine.

The Saloon Doors were 1949 or later. I would say 1947 because of the 475 watt motor and the fact that the runners attach to the sides of the body and not the front and back of the machine also the redesigned front handle that is wider at the bottom.

I think the back end may have been replaced with a 49 end later on in life.

Mine is from 1939 notice the difference in the front handle and how the runners attach.

Model xxx.

The paint on the underside looks like the same green/grey as the trim on the model lx tools, meaning that it was refurbished at some time. Could you post the numbers stamped on the outside of the bag chamber? they would tell us a lot more information.

NOT worth $150. With the bojacked parts, probably worth about $30. There are so many model XXX's, many vac shops will just give them to you for asking.

I hope he knows that cord is shot, I wouldn't dare use it.

Here's what the complete machine of 1949 looked like. Without hose, wands, sprayer and vaporizor of course.
